ABOUT THE COMMITTEE
The Recreation Committee
MISSION:
The Recreation Committee’s mission is dedicated to creating a year-around program of recreational activities to appeal to all age groups, specifically tailored to wants and desires of Hidden Lakes residents, as determined in the annual survey. The committee wants the enjoyment brought by this charter of fun and fitness to those participating only to be exceeded by the reward felt by those in planning and leading such activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and coordinate recreational activities for the enjoyment of Hidden Lakes residents based on preferences indicated by the survey results. Examples include jogging groups, golf leagues, 5K marathons, softball teams, and hike and bike groups. Activities provided for both adults and children.
Foster a healthy soccer competition by helping establish teams and facilitate any access to soccer camps or classes that may be offered. Ensure the equipment (goals, primarily) and the fields themselves are maintained in optimal condition though responsible regulation of the soccer fields rental fees.
Encourage participation in our very own Hidden Lakes summer Lightning Swim Team, and pre-season classes and tryouts. Ensure we employ enthusiastic, competent coaches paid through reasonable registration fees, as well as providing for purchase and maintenance of uniforms and any equipment (lane lines, for example). Negotiate swim practice times with the HOA On-site Managers.
Monitor the condition of the sand and equipment of the volleyball court at the Clubhouse on Bear Creek Parkway.
Provide exciting summer activities for the children and adults of Hidden Lakes, including planning and coordination of classes offered by Tarrant Community College (TCC). Ensure ample time for promotion and registration for these events by supplying the information to the Communications Committee for inclusion in the quarterly newsletter, website, weekly email HOA NewsAlerts, and flyers posted at the pools and Clubhouse.
The costs of most recreational activities (soccer, swim team, summer classes, golf leagues, etc.) will be paid for by the participants. Costs of other recreational events may be offset by working with the Hidden Lakes Promotions Manager to garner sponsorships as needed to financially support the events and activities. Submit any additional budget needs to the Finance Committee for prior approval.
