Let us know if you have comments or suggestions to make the HOA
E-News more useful. If you don't see the pictures, your email software may require you to right click on "download pictures" in the header or footer area. Previous E-News bulletins are available on-line at the HL HOA website.
ONLINE DIRECTORY: If you haven't already done so, be sure to sign up for the password protected on-line Hidden Lakes directory. If you didn't get a temporary user name and password, or misplaced it, CLICK HERE to log into the on-line form and fill out the section to request a user ID and password.
We have had an excellent response and positive feedback about the new on-line directory which allows you to directly update your information and to mark what you want to show or kept private. It also has a revamped pet section that is easier to use, including uploading a photo of your pets. If you find a pet, you can do a search to directly try and reunite the lost pet with its owner.
If you encounter access or entry problems, contact directory@HLhoa.com.

| Crucial Communications Committee Seeks Volunteers | | |
The Hidden Lakes Communications Committee provides a crucial link between the HOA and residents. Periodic surveys provide vital information as to residents wants, desires, and opinions. Twice monthly E-News and Alerts when needed, along with the HOA website provide information helpful to residents. Our new on-line directory provides easy to use current information in a protected environment. All this is provided by a very small group of volunteer residents who would like to encourage additional residents to help.
If you have an interest in communications, we need volunteers to help prepare/proof articles for the E-News and monitor the website to keep it current and accurate. Writing and graphics skills would be helpful but the main requirement is a strong interest in providing accurate, objective and timely information to HL residents.
If you are interested or have questions, email communications@HLhoa.com.

Hidden Lakes Elementary School Traffic Zone To Be Extended
The City of Keller will be amending an ordinance to change the location of one of the school zone traffic signals. The signal located on the south side of Bear Creek Parkway as you travel eastbound will be moved west of Promontory Drive.
This area has been an issue for pedestrians crossing at the intersection of Bear Creek and Promontory because the hill on the Eastbound lanes restricts the vision of the crosswalk at Promontory Drive. There has been several "near misses" involving children and adults that walk to Hidden Lakes Elementary School.
Once the ordinance has been approved by the City Council, work will begin to relocate the sign. The change should take place in the next few months. |
| February Wine Group Meeting | | |
Wine Enthusiasts - The HL Wine Group kicked off 2012 with its January meeting. We had a great gathering of new and returning residents and experienced many delicious appetizers that were superb wine pairings. We also had a segment on "wine education" which was fun and enlightening for us all. We have many new hosting homes for 2012, but one more meeting at the Littlejohn home (608 Atascosa - Creekwood Village) is the setting for the February 4th meeting at 7:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars.
If you haven't attended this group before, all you need to do is RSVP to winetasting@HLhoa.com, pick out your favorite bottle of wine (or sparkling wine), prepare an hors d'oeuvre to share, and join the group. It's a casual meeting and provides for an enjoyable evening close to home. Feel free to bring another couple to share the experience with new wine varietals.
Here's to another great meeting in 2012! |
| Pet Reminders | | |
Two of the most frequent complaints the HOA Association Managers receive are dogs being left outside to bark for extended periods of time and owners not picking up after their dogs.
- If you put your dogs outside, please be considerate of your neighbors and bring them in if they are barking.
- Please pick up after your pet - the most basic responsibilities of pet owners.
- Keller has a leash law; therefore, all pets must be on a leash whenever not in your house or fenced yard.
If you haven't already, register your pet in our online directory. You can add specifics about your pets including pictures. If a resident finds a stray pet, they can check the database for the animal and contact the owner directly should they find a match. |

MAC's, Adobe Flash and Hidden Lakes Online Directory
The new online directory currently uses Adobe Flash for the interface. Some residents have reported they don't have Flash on their Macs and therefore cannot access the online directory.
Flash generally worked fine up through Mac Operating System 10.6 Snow Leopard; however, with 10.7 Lion there were initially some problems with Flash. Adobe now recommends using Flash Player 11 or later with Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or 10.7 (Lion). You can download it if you would like to try this with your Safari or Firefox browser. To check the version/status of your flash player, click here.
We are continuing to investigate this issue of Flash and the on-line directory for Mac users. |
